You guys ever have so many conflicting thoughts swirling and end up feeling exhausted and without an answer to the madness? Cool. Me too.
I’ve found when I turn on the praise and worship, get in the presence of God through reading the Bible, or just stop talking to myself and start talking to my closest friend who is always always always listening (Jesus) the swirling slows and then the confusion dissipates. It may not be that I have “an answer,” but I’m aware that the answer doesn’t lie in me, it lies in Him.
Just this week I was thinking of things that may lay ahead, all that is currently on my plate, and I the “can I do this?” “do I have the capacity?” all started swirling about. God (If a timely song plays…I always give God the credit) played a song through Youtube Music that reminded me “The Lord Will Provide.” As I sang about the Lords provision the question of my capacity disappeared, and I knew that it was ok to feel as though I didn’t have the energy, because it would be provided on a daily basis. I knew I couldn’t think forward about how I would ever “do it all” because I wasn’t taking into account the provision from God that I didn’t know about yet.
As I begin today, with what I know it will hold, and what I don’t know I ask God to provide. Give me the words, the energy, the patience, the love, the compassion, the wisdom, and the guidance that I will need as each is called upon as I walk out my roles as a wife, parent, friend, sister, and daughter.
He didn’t bring us this far to leave us now. Keep talking to Jesus. He doesn’t ask you to fake excitement or understanding. Be honest with Him. Then be honest with yourself, if you are walking with God, He says. “whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do..” (John 14:12 NIV) If you go where He goes, and you walk where He leads, you are walking in the same power that rose Christ from the dead, that is more than enough power to face your day.
Here’s a prayer for this new day.
God, when questions start swirling please remind me that you are near. Remind me that you equip me and provide for me, in a daily, moment by moment capacity. Help me to stay present in each moment. I trust that when I do, I will look up and find I have what I need to face whatever that moment holds. Lord help me to remember that your ways are higher than my ways and even with my best imagination I could never guess the amount of your goodness that fills those “scary” moments that lie ahead. Thank you for being in my yesterday, my today, and my tomorrow. You are a good good Father. Thank you for loving me the way that you do.
