His love for you is deep.

When I don’t have an innocent little one to love and fight for, I do not feel the same connection to the breadth and deepness of God’s love for those He created. I need the daily visual. This is partly why my family and I are always ready to say yes to the next little one God sends our way. We are always looking, always praying, and always hoping that God will choose us to be part of His family of believers showing love and care for newest ones to join our earthly world.

His love for them: When little one’s come into my care because of whatever reason they have been placed into foster care, I cannot help but to see God at work on their behalf. I see how He pulled the child to safety, He placed the child in my arms (arms that were aching to hold them), God gave them a foster family that will fight to get them the best medical care, and will also make the sacrifices needed to give this new little one the best family experience one can provide. God also created a deep love in us not only for the child, but for the family they were born to. He placed the child in a home where both child and birth family will be loved and supported to the best of the family’s ability. That’s a good God.

His love for me: After thinking about God’s love for the child, I start feeling really grateful that I am the one He trusted with this child, this birth family, and this experience. When I realize God created me, equipped me, and then chose me for this foster parenting role, I realize God loves me just as much as He loves this little one. All the protection, love, and fight He puts in on the child’s behalf I realize He gives me too.

His love for you: Why is it so easy to see the love of God for a baby and harder to imagine it for ourselves? I believe it feels natural to see a baby as innocent, and defenseless so it would also feel natural to love and defend. An adult, is never completely innocent, and they aren’t defenseless any longer. However, we are just as loved by God as the little one is. Can you believe it? Can you believe God wants to spend time as close to you as a sleeping newborn is close to you while laying on your chest? Can you believe that God wants to pull you through and from your hard places and give you a full and joyous life? Can you believe that when life has left you feeling defenseless or too weak to fight the giants that need to be overcome (those giants could be anxiety, doubt, addiction, depression, impatience, anger, any number of these types of reoccurring struggle,) God wants to come to your rescue? He chooses you. He says yes to you. He loves you. He has good things planned for your future. He has compassion for your struggles, and He desires to give you the tools to be victorious.

You are never too much to be chosen. You are never too little for God to use you for big things. You are His, and He has created you to bring glory and honor to Him. No bad thing is too terrible to be redeemed, no weakness too weak for Him to make a strength.

You don’t need to be a perfect vessel for God to use you to show the depth of His love to the world. You need only be willing. He loves you too much to let every passion and gift He created in you to go to waste. Trust Him. The things that make your heart race, the passions that you wish to pursue, if you will live open handedly God will take all He has given you and use it for His glory. When are chosen to be used by Him and for His glory, there’s no greater feeling of love and purpose.

God has come to give you life to the fullest! (John 10:10) Any other version of life means the thief is winning! The devil is full of death and destruction, but he is also subject to God.
