God is in the details

*Picture is of my two oldest crying into my husband’s shoulder and face when our first foster love went home.

I woke up while it was still black outside. I thought to myself how February 1st, 2024 seemed far away. Why did I pick February 1 for the release date of my new book? What’s so good about that day verses any other?

See, I have written a book. A book about my foster parenting journey. A book that I hope inspires, and equips others to choose foster parenting and to then do it well. I wanted to have at least a little time to get a printed copy in my own hands, hand out a few copies, and hopefully get the word out that the book was releasing. I thought my birthday would be a good day, but that seemed too far away (March). I chose, a slightly sooner, February 1st and went on with the other details that needed attended to so that the book would be published.

While I laid in the dark the answer came to me. My first foster baby love went back home on February 1st. My last son came into our home on February 1st. Now, this book that uses those stories and others to help give a clear picture of what a foster family experience could look like, will release on what appears to be a pretty big fostering day for my family! I didn’t choose that on purpose, or at least not consciously. God is in the details.

If you or someone you know is interested in what it would look like to become a foster parent please consider a preorder of “The Road to You. A Roadmap to Foster Care.” I truly believe the book will provide clarity for the to foster parent or to not foster parent decision.

If you or someone you know is already on the foster parenting road, this book can be used to provide resources and encouragement to keep moving forward as a foster parent. You are never as alone as you might think, people have been where you have been, and there are people who understand what you are going through. Don’t be scared to ask for help. I do hope my book can provide some of the help you may need.

Here’s to more traveler’s joining those of us on this worth while road as foster parents. There are many vulnerable children and families waiting to be found and walked with, and not as many foster families are coming to join them as are needed.

Can’t wait to see where the printing of this book will take you and your family. So many people who need encouragement to continue fostering or others who just need a nudge to step out in faith and join the cause. A child is waiting on you to make a difference in their life. Get a copy of this book and tell others to get one too.
